Fresh from Mysore, just in time for the hotter wearher, we have a new shipment of Mysore cotton rugs in various colours and patterns.
Thick rugs are $45. Thin rugs are $35. Buy two rugs and take $5 of each.
The Shala will be open on Monday May 21st for Mysore class from 9 to 11 am only.
Rachelle and Paul posted a few pics from India on flickr. Click here to view the album.
The full moon falls on Good Friday, April 6th, this year so the Shala will be closed.
Due to the moon day falling on the first Friday of the month, Led Primary Series class will be held a day earlier, on Thursday April 5th from 6:30 – 8 am followed by Mysore class from 8 – 11 am.
The Shala will be open on Easter Sunday, April 8th, with class running as scheduled from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
We are back from KPJAYI in Mysore and will resume teaching tomorrow, Sunday April 1st. No fooling!
We feel so grateful to Manuel for taking such good care of everything while we were in Mysore.
Hi everyone. All’s well here in Mysore.
Last night was Maha Shivaratri, a celebration dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Some Hindus, particularly devotees of Shiva, stay up all night to celebrate.
We walked past a local temple on our way home from dinner and had a peek at the festivities. Here’s Rachelle standing in front of the Eshwar Temple. There was a line around the block of people waiting to go inside to take darshan (which is to take the blessing of the resident temple deity).
We are having a great trip and enjoying ourselves. Practice is intense and wonderful. We’re grateful to be here.
We’ll be in touch again soon.
The Shala will be open for Mysore class from 9 to 11 am only on Monday February 20th, Family Day.
It’s been a week since we arrived in Mysore. We are settling in nicely and are so happy to be here.
We had a lovely reunion with Sharath when we registered. Paul wrote about it on his blog. Have a look at the post if you’re interested.
We also had a fantastic wildlife sighting on yesterday’s full moon. We were hanging around our flat during the afternoon enjoying the chance to be lazy. Rachelle was preparing something in our kitchen and she called for Paul to come quickly as there was a large hawk just outside our window.
Paul had a look and hurried to grab the camera. Usually, time is against us when trying to grab the camera as there’s a lens change involved to get decent wildlife shots.
Thankfully, the hawk was interested in our neighbour’s chickens and gave Paul ample time to snap away.
There are a few more pics in our flickr photostream.
We hope everyone is doing well back in Toronto and we’ll be in touch again soon.
Hi from Mysore. Rachelle and I are jet-lagged but happily settling into things here.
Just posted a new blog entry entitled, Humility. Have a look.
